About Me …

I am currently a Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I received a Master’s Degree in Human Services with a concentration on Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.

I completed my residencies and internship in a wide range of settings; including residential, in-home and out-patient services with children and their families who have experienced extensive physical and sexual abuse and with multiple mental health diagnosis. I have received training in play therapy and art therapy with children and adolescents. Additionally, I have received training in various child centered assessments including The Extended Play-Based Developmental Assessment (EPBDA), The Assessment of Sexual Behavior Problems in Children (ASBPC), and The Trauma Assessment and Intervention for Children and Youth (TAICY).

My career focus and interest are in individual, family and group therapies working with children, adolescents and their families who are dealing with trauma, abuse, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment using play and art techniques.

Throughout my career I have had experience facilitating individual, family and group therapy related to a variety of social and emotional challenges including anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, trauma, and academic concerns.
